Acceptance of terms
By creating an account and using Dunedin Trails, you agree to these Terms & Disclaimer. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. Your access includes a 3-day free trial, after which a contribution is required to continue using member features.
Use at your own risk
Dunedin Trails is a community guide only. Trail conditions, access, and weather change frequently. You are responsible for your own safety at all times. The app, its creators, and contributors are not liable for any injury, loss, damage, or accident arising from your use of the app or reliance on the information it provides.
Trail information accuracy
Trail descriptions, distances, durations, difficulty ratings, and locations are provided by the community and may be inaccurate or out of date. Always verify current conditions before setting out, follow signage on the ground, and do not rely solely on the app for navigation.
Land access & permissions
Many trails cross private, council (DCC), or Department of Conservation (DOC) land with specific access conditions and seasonal restrictions. You must respect all landowner rules, keep to marked tracks, and observe any closures or limits shown in the app.
Contributions & membership
Member features (Offline maps, Groups, Events, My Trail Log, and suggesting trails) require an account. After a 3-day free trial, a contribution is required to keep using these features. Contributions support the ongoing maintenance of the app and trails. The payment provider is not yet connected — no payment is taken until it is.
User content
Trails, reviews, photos, and completions you submit may be visible to others depending on the settings you choose. You grant the app a licence to display content you submit. Do not upload content that infringes others' rights or that includes personal information about others without consent.
Account & disclaimer version
When you register you must accept this disclaimer. If we update it, you will be asked to accept the new version before continuing to use the app. You can delete your account at any time from your profile or settings.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new disclaimer version that you will be asked to accept on your next visit.
