Gilmerton and Lockerbie Park
Kia ora and welcome to the local planting group that is enhancing this greenspace. With the support of the DCC we have approval to plant native shrubs and tress around the park. This will help improve the biodiversity and birdsong in the area. Please join us in helping to plant up the area. This will be in 2 stages. First one this year, 2026 where we will plant 500 trees along the steep bank (below houses) and then next year will be planting up the bottom boggy area. This will still leave the main grassy middle area for play. Follow our facebook page for more information and updates for when the next work/planting day will be.
